Taking more pictures

It's been a couple of days since my last post! That's because my days here have all been a bit same-y, so after the first experiences there's not much to update. So I took a bit of a break and now I have enough "exciting" material to share!

Things have been going great at work, though we haven't done too much designing yet. We've been observing others at work, to see how they do things. It has been very interesting. I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to share, so I'll keep it vague. They've worked with some big companies, doing bigger projects and smaller ones. Some of the things we've seen them do so far include website design, presentation layouts, posters, and logos.
For smaller projects they use Shutterstuck for their imagery. This way the client won't have to pay too much for original photography/illustrations. We've helped with finding good pictures for adverts.
Today, Friday 7th, we had a bit of an unusual day. Instead of going to work, we went to the GMIT campus, here in Galway. Proactive has done prospectuses for GMIT for many years, and we've learned more about the design process. So James suggested that we go visit the campus to get a better image of what the school is like.
Since today was a bit of a shorter day for us, we visited the beach at Salthill. Our apartment is near the shore, but it's usually quite dark once we get back from work.

I've also took advantage of being in a different country, by using streaming services to watch shows legally. Streaming services show a really limited amount of media in Finland, so I'm able to watch one of my favorite anime legally, which is great.

I've also already visited one bookstore, that's located really close to Proactive. It's called Kennys Bookshop & Art Gallery and it's really big! They also have an online store. I really hope to visit more bookshops while I'm here.

Centra is the convenience store we've been buying our groceries from. They have a similar selection as convenience stores in Finland. So far we've been able to get by with the food. We already have one favorite item: pancakes. They are surprisingly delicious and cheap, which makes them a great breakfast/snack.
