Shopping for Books

Earlier this week we planned a trip to different bookshops in Galway. Today we went to 3 different bookshops: Kennys Bookshop, Dubray Books, and Charlie Byrne's Bookshop.

Kennys Bookshop

Kennys Bookshop is the bookshop near Proactive, less than 300 meters away. The only downside is that it closes at 5 PM, and we get off from work at 5 PM, so we cannot go there after work. Luckily our lunch break is long enough for a quick visit. It sells a lot of books, new and second-hand. A lot of the books are quite cheap! I wouldn't recommend you go to look for a certain book, as there are a lot of books. It's easier to just browse the categories and pick one that sounds interesting.

Dubray Books

Dubray Books is located near Eyre Square, on the Shop Street. It's an Irish book-chain with eight branches across the country. Dubray Books is a great shop. As soon as I found the Young Adult section, I lost all control. I saw so many books that I've been wanting to buy. As the books are all new, they're all prized around 10 euro, which is still pretty good compared to Finnish prizes.

Charlie Byrne's Bookshop

Charlie Byrne's Bookshop is in the same area as Dubray Books, and is also close to a bus stop, which was convenient for us. This store sold a lot of books, and I'm talking a lot: both second-hand and new. It had fun decor, and a nice quiet atmosphere. I'm not sure how they pick the prizing, but some of the books I bought were 5 euro, and some were 9.60 euro.

Today was an excellent book day! Though the books did get a bit heavy... Hopefully that won't cause problems with my the weight of my luggage. We'll worry about that later! If you're curious about the books I bought today, here's a list of them all.
