Getting Used To Galway

It's only our third day here in Galway, but I feel like I've already gotten the hang of the essentials. We have a simple and nice schedule, and I hope I'll stick to it for the rest of the trip.

8 AM: Waking up and getting ready to go to work

9 AM: Leaving the house and getting on the bus, then walking to work

10 AM - 1 PM: Working

1 PM - 2 PM: Lunch break, going to a cafe or restaurant to eat

2 PM - 5 PM: Working

5 PM: Going back to our apartment

6 PM - 10 PM: Free time

10 PM: Bed time!

I'm going to go over my schedule more in depth. In the morning I have plenty of time to get ready. Getting dressed, brushing my teeth, eating a small breakfast... We almost have too much time to get ready, as we've ended up just sitting on the couch until we have to leave. Having that extra time is nice though.

I think I've gone over our bus situation pretty thoroughly. We got on the 401 bus, which arrives at a bus station near our apartment at 9:06. We stop at Wellpark, I believe. The bus stop names are a bit confusing. They all have two different names, and it's just weird. But luckily Google Maps shows both of the names. This is still something I have to get used to.

We've only been working for two days, so I can't say for sure what the work is going to be like for the next few weeks. So far we've had different design exercises: the prospectus cover design from yesterday, and today we had a logo design.

As I've mentioned before, there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Proactive is located in a "business park" which basically means that there are a bunch of different businesses in the area, and some of those businesses are food related.

On our way back to the apartment, we got on a different bus than the other times. We've used double decker buses, but this one was more of a "normal" bus. This bus however, did not have the handy screen inside (the one that shows the stops). I had my Google Maps (I've mentioned Google Maps so many times in these blogs already, but it seriously has been a life-saver!) open and used it to keep track of the bus stops.

Before going back to our apartment, we went back to the convenience store to buy more food. We stocked up on some drinks, and bought ourselves some breakfast foods (which are interchangeable with snacks). This includes: instant pancakes, muffins, and yogurt.

This evening Sonja and I had a little bit of a movie night. We got some snacks, jumped onto my big queen-sized bed, and opened up Netflix. They've recently added Studio Ghibli movies to Netflix, so we ended up watching Kiki's Delivery Service. It's one of my all time favorites! We had a lot of fun watching it!

Things are going great here! The weather hasn't been as bad as everyone made it out to be. We were warned of extreme wind and rain but so far it's been nice. Sure, there have been times when it's rained and the wind blew a bit stronger. The weather changes very quickly, I've noticed. It can be sunny and nice, and then suddenly it's raining. Then a few minutes later the rain has stopped. I'm not complaining, though. It's different, but it's nice!
