Back to Work!

I felt a lot better today! Though I was still a bit dizzy after walking in the morning, I got better throughout the day! I'm very happy that I managed to go to work today. I briefly mentioned the weather in previous posts. I have some things to say.

The weather here changes so fast! It can be hailing for a few minutes and then suddenly it's sunny and calm outside? I have never seen the weather change so quickly as I did today. Another thing: hail. It was hailing so much today! It doesn't hail a lot in Finland, so I was definitely surprised by the amount of hail. I don't know if this is more of a Galway thing or an Irish thing (or even a Europe thing?) but wow.

Despite all the hail, the weather was beautiful at times. As I said: the weather changes fast. So there were times when the weather was really bad (strong wind and hail) and times when it was sunny. Luckily the weather was pretty good while we were outside. Especially when we got off from work.

We continues our GMIT prospectuses today! To be honest, I had never heard of a prospectus before, and it still doesn't look like a real word. I have learned something new during this trip! James gave us a USB-stick with pictures from GMIT, which we could include in our designs. We opened up inDesign and got to work!

You can't see the colors properly in the image, but I think it's still alright. We did a few different versions, but this one was the one based on my initial sketch. I think it's looking pretty good, though it looks a bit more like a poster than a book cover. The design is pretty simple/minimalist, which is sort of my go-to.

After eating lunch we had a lot of time before our break ended, so we went back to Kennys Bookshop! It's a bookshop only a few hundred meter away from Proactive. I ended up finding an interesting looking book! It's a hardcover, and it was only 6 euros! I am so amazed! A hardcover! And it's only 6 euros?! Count me in!

I looked this book up (on Goodreads) and it turns out this book is a fantasy (I figured) and it's also YA (Young Adult) and I love that! A lot of adult fantasy novels can be a bit challenging to get into, with complex world-building, but usually YA is easier to get into. This cover is looking gorgeous and I've just been staring at it.

Haha, this just turned into me gushing over books. I'm hoping to do more stuff this week, as I was planning to go visit Eyre square on the weekend but got sick. So hopefully I'll have a lot more to update on! I might write a post later this week on some differences between Ireland and Finland.
